The Salone Internazionale del Mobile (International Furniture Fair) was born in Milan in 1961 to promote Italian exports of the furniture industry and its accessories, it is the international reference event for the furniture and design sector.
The commitment undertaken has satisfied the intent over the decades, spreading the quality of Italian furniture worldwide and continues to satisfy it if we consider that the majority of visitors come from abroad.
A laboratory for experimentation and contamination, a meeting place and new opportunities to reflect on the world of design and design.
In 1965, for the first time, the leading companies in the furniture sector are grouped in a uniform exhibition space for commercial offerings.
1965 is also the year in which exhibitors begin to pay great attention to the fittings, a feature that will always distinguish the Salone from other events; always 1965 is the year of the first collateral event and the year in which Domus magazine dedicated the first article to the Salone.
Having become international since 1967, the Salone del Mobile is still capable of a great deal of resonance since it has no equal in the world, in any sector.
