From 26 July to 18 November, at the Design Museum in London will be on stage: Designed to Win celebrates the ways in which design and sport come together, overcoming the limits of human effort to get the records and victories of growing importance and wonder.
From the design of F1 cars running shoes, from racing bikes to carbon fiber javelins, research to improve the performance and function is infinite. In conjunction with the year of the Olympics in London, he explores the various ways in which design has shaped the world of sports.
Looking at key moments in which design has played a significant role in the advancement of sport and performance of the athletes, the exhibition examines themes of security, performance, fashion, new materials and technologies.
Films, photographs and models will be on display alongside interactive exhibits, sporting equipment in the course of time. Looking at famous sporting moments and a sense of shared celebration and show, Designed to Win highlights not only how design can influence the sport but also as a sport has influenced design, art and culture.
